The magazine was produced in the UK by a partnership of leading charities dealing with drugs and alcohol: DrugScope, Alcohol Concern and the National Addiction Centre. Target readers were practitioners, managers, commissioners, and others involved in drug and alcohol services and interventions wanting to improve their effectiveness by reference to research findings.

Each ‘Nugget’ gave the key findings of an important new study, set in the context of previous research, and relates that research to the UK policy and practice context in order to draw out the implications for practice. Also featured were reviews of the evidence on selected priority topics.
